Modulo 1000 took it even further on their 1970 album N?Fale Com Paredes (Dont Talk To Walls). RPM Internationals reissue of N?Fale Com Paredes shows that Tropicalia was part of the story Brazil was the home to even freakier music. Although influenced by Led Zeppelin and Steppenwolf Modulo 1000 sounded like no one else. Raw and exotic Modulo 1000 pitched heavy guitars against songs influenced by psychedelia. On a line between progressive and hard rock Modulo 1000 still sounded Brazilian.

A blend of folk, blues, jazz, and Eastern psychedelia, 24 Hours is at its best on the more Eastern and experimental influenced pieces like "Pale Shades of Gray" with its eerie melody, "What's the Matter Now," and "Elaborations" with its lengthy raga-ish instrumental with some very effective flute. The album also contains some covers like "Get Out of My Life" and Eric Andersen's "Violets of Dawn" which are just adequate, but their version of "Hey Joe" is exciting. Keith Pettipas.
