Born in Glasgow, he trained as an architect and interior designer - as did many people. So why was he so different? Well, he introduced symbolism, balanced light with dark, and blended tradition and modernity. The giant achievements of Charles Rennie Mackintosh in both architecture and design now show him to be a man ahead of his time. Influenced by his work, the handmade Mackintosh Bed with Tall Head End is available in two beautiful finishes and is decorated on the head and foot end with handmade ceramic plaques in crackle glaze cream. This bed also has a highly practical slatted base. Please note, the mattress is not included with this bed. Please note that this bed is also available in a range of non-standard sizes.
