The glass cylinder of this "Pluviometer" is designed so that rain falling into the vessel is compared to the area of a square metre. You can read off the amount of precipitation in litres per square metre from the scale. 1 mm on the scale thus corresponds to 1 litre of precipitation per square metre. Length of the steel holder 130 cm (51” approx.), cylinder 21 cm (8” approx.) high, 12 cm (5” approx.) diameter, total weight 1.3 kg.
