The Mc Laren MP4-4, beautifully re-created by the expert model makers, Amalgam. This hand-crafted model is of the evocative Mc Laren MP4-4, the car that took the late Ayrton Senna to his first World Championship title in the 1988 Japanese Grand Prix. Senna stalled from his front row start, eventually managing to fire up his Mc Laren, but was down in 14th position by the first corner. Senna then began his charge back up the field, moving up six positions on the second lap alone. The weather turned for the worse on lap 14, and Senna’s wet-weather skill (on slick tyres) powered him back into contention, with only his rival Alain Prost between him and his first title. An epic battle ensued, with Senna coming out on top to take his first World Championship title. This 1/8 scale model is an homage to the very car that raced in Japan. From the slick Goodyear Eagle tyres than Senna kept in the wet conditions, to the number 12 decals, every detail is represented. Presented on an exquisite base, this is your opportunity to celebrate one of the greatest driver/car combinations ever to take to the track.
