An excellent hotel in the 4* category, and in Durban's very best location. The level of service at the hotel is excellent and the terrace is one of Durban's best places to watch the sunset. All the rooms are medium in size, whilst the décor reflects the colonial style of the hotel. Each room has a comfortable dark wood bed, writing desk and tea/ coffee-making facilities, as well as a safe, satelite TV and 24 hour-room service. Situated on the ground floor, serving the highest quality local and international cuisine. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be taken inside the hotel or on the popular terrace at the front of the hotel.

There are good public transport connections. This is a traditional Parisian 6 storey building. The hote lobby is medium in size, with Louis XV style wood work. One may feel as if in an antique gallery but in a relaxing and warm atmosphere. Situated next to the Champs-Elysees, the hotel reserves a charming, sophisticated and warm welcome for guests. This is a 3 star first class property with all the standards of a 4 star hotel. The rooms are medium in size and in excellent condition with all the facilities. They are refurbished in elegant and distinctive style. Furniture (from the Louis XV era) was selected by the owner, Madame Mercadier, at the well known antique shops in Paris, along with the wall papers and fabrics reflecting different theme colours and creating a different atmosphere in each room. The pictures on the walls were chosen by an art professional to match the wall paper. The breakfast room is located on the ground floor. It is the same style as the lobby, and it turns into a bar in the evening.
