Easton EA90 - Mountain/Road Bike Stem The EA90 - Mountain/Road Bike Stem is an ultra lightweight aluminium stem which offers a high performance feel which is the choice of World Champion Cadel Evens and his Pro Tour BMC team mates. The EA90 - Mountain/Road Bike Stem features advanced aluminium tubing combined with highly technical features like the DST system which reduces the risk of damage when clamping to carbon bars. DST The DST(Distributed Stress Technology) reduces stem clamping stress by changing the shape of the interface between the bar- stem and faceplate. By distributing the clamping forces over a larger area and moving on the stem bolts away from the edge of the stem the stress is distributed more evenly along the centre section of the handlebar which creates the perfect stem interface for lightweight and carbon handlebars. Top-Lock Technology The stem body and faceplate have a corresponding shape that allows the stem to "lock-on" on one edge when tightened- this radically changes the amount of contact area between the bar and stem- adding better grip and improving the stiffness between the bar and the stem interface and improved stem bolt fatigue. The advantage is a lighter- stiffer and stronger stem which works better with lightweight handlebars.
